CEO Corner: Honoring Our Social Workers

As we continue to celebrate Social Work Month, I want to pause and recognize a group of people who make a tremendous difference across our entire organization—our social workers. Their work may not always be front and center like a new building or program, but its impact is deeply felt in the lives of the patients and families we serve every day.

Whether in our psychiatric hospital, our outpatient mental health clinics, or our FQHC, social workers are at the heart of making sure every person who walks through our doors receives care that is compassionate, culturally aware, trauma‑informed, and grounded in dignity and respect.

Our community relies on us for mental health treatment, crisis stabilization, and accessible primary care. These services require clinical skill, yes—but just as importantly, they require empathy and a real understanding of the human experience. Social workers bring these worlds together.

They guide patients through moments of crisis, help families navigate complicated systems, support safe transitions of care, and connect people to housing, food, benefits, and ongoing behavioral health support. For many of our patients—especially those struggling with financial challenges, chronic mental illness, or unstable housing—our social workers are the steady, supportive presence they need during their most vulnerable times.

Let’s all take a moment to celebrate our social workers, thank them, and recognize the extraordinary role they play in fulfilling our mission.

To every social worker in our organization—thank you. You are the compassion, dedication, and hope that our patients and our community rely on every single day.
