Children’s Outpatient

Program summary:

The Children’s Outpatient are for children, teens, and transitional age youth (TAY) with emotional and behavioral issues that require special attention and specialized care  in an environment especially designed for them. Many of these children may have been neglected and abused as well as have exhibited delinquent behaviors that affect their relationships with family, peers, teachers and others within the community. The interdisciplinary healthcare team uses evidence-based practices in treating trauma, bereavement, behavioral problems and other issues. Treatment is highly individualized and depends on the child’s symptoms, developmental level and individual needs.

Program Enrollment Eligibility:

Children ages 0-18 and transitional age youth (TAY) 16-25 who walk-in or are self-referred for services or referred by family, school, or other parties based on presenting symptoms and concerns that are determined to be manageable at the general  outpatient level rather than for specialty or intensive service delivery programs.

Program Services:

Children enrolled in Children’s Outpatient may receive the various treatment interventions including:

  • assessment and evaluation
  • prevention and early intervention services
  • individual therapy
  • conjoint/family therapy
  • medication evaluation and/or ongoing medication support services
  • social skills training
  • case management
  • the utilization of various evidenced based practices including: Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), Families Overcoming Under Stress (FOCUS), Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Crisis Oriented Recovery Services (CORS), Positive Parenting Program (Triple P), and/or  Seeking Safety.

Children’s Field Capable Support Services/Resilience, Recovery, Reintegration (FCCS/RRR)

Program summary:

Field Capable Clinical Services, delivered under the Mental Health Services Act, are intended to address the needs of individuals who are severely emotionally disturbed or present with severe and persistent mental illness, but do not have the intensive service needs of individuals who qualify for Full Service Partnerships. Clinical services delivered in settings preferred by families.

FCCS utilizes evidence-based strategies whenever they can be identified. FCCS provides a way of transitioning former FSP clients to less intensive programs as they meet their recovery goals, and an other instances works as a method of prevention from the need for more intensive services such as FSP, Day Treatment, or inpatient hospitalization.

Program Enrollment Eligibility:

Children ages 0-18 and transitional age youth (TAY) 16-25 who meet criteria for intensive evidenced-based services at the level required for FCCS/RRR.

Program Services:

Services should be client driven and designed to meet the needs and goals of each client. FCCS services that are available are as follows:

  •  Outreach and Engagement
  •  Bio-psychosocial assessment
  •  Individual and family treatment
  •  Medication support
  •  Specialized assessment and treatment
  • interventions for co-occurring disorders, i.e. mental illness and substance abuse
  • Linkage to self-help and family support groups,
  • health services, benefits establishment, temporary
  • and/or permanent housing
  •  Family education and support
  •  Support for employment, education, and social
  • support development
  •  24/7 Telephone response
  •  50 % fieled based services
  •  Case management support
