Child Inpatient (5-12 years)
The Child Inpatient offers comprehensive diagnostic evaluation and treatment of children ages 5-12 years of age with a variety of emotional and behavioral problems including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders, severe disruptive behavior, and depression.
The inpatient treatment team includes psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, psychologists, social workers, occupational therapists, registered nurses, and case managers. In addition, each child obtains a physical by a pediatrician.
The interdisciplinary team works to provide comprehensive assessment of the child’s needs in order to devise treatment interventions and discharge planning recommendations. The child’s program will include developmentally-appropriate therapeutic activities in a closely supervised environment. Extensive opportunities for observation, assessment, and intervention are possible in this intensive setting. The treatment interventions are individually created for each child, yet typically include a combination of individual psychotherapy, behavioral modification, family counseling, and psychotropic medications. Specialized assessments including psychological testing, and occupational therapy assessments, as needed. Caregivers/parents are encouraged to actively participate with the treatment team. The goal for each discharged child is to increase their feelings of safety towards self and others as then re-enter the community, and to link them to outpatient providers and aftercare resources to support them.
Adult Services (18-64 years)
The Adult Inpatient offers comprehensive diagnostic evaluation and treatment of adults ages 18-64 years of age who present as a danger to self, danger to others, or as gravely disabled (unable to source food/clothing/shelter for themselves).
